This luxurious Southern Ocean Lodge rests upon a secluded white sands coastal cliff in the “Australian Galapagos,” offering views of the Southern Ocean and the wilderness of Kangaroo Island with the opportunity to spot Australia’s most popular wildlife, such as koalas, kangaroos, New Zealand fur seals, sea lions and more. Rates include all dining and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as well as a variety of on-site excursions and activities.

Southern Ocean Lodge offers 21 luxury suites with lavish king beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, sunken lounges, sandblasted limestone floors, and outdoor terraces furnished with occasional seating and daybeds, with views of the land and water. Rooms are decorated with modern luxury with an eco-chic, contemporary environmental design, including recycled spotted gum feature walls and furniture and artwork from local artisans.
The glass-walled bathrooms feature Southern Spa amenities – other amenities include: walk-in robe, complimentary room bar, twice-daily housekeeping services, optional climate control, heated floors, complimentary Internet service, music system with MP3 input, in-room safe and telephone. Select suited offer televisions as well.
The Southern Spa utilizes Australian-made Li’Tya spa products and offers a variety of traditional and cutting edge spa treatments, including a steam room, chill out lounge, spa cuisine program, and more, all set in their pristine, natural environment.
Guided island excursions are available each day and are included in your cost. The Southern Ocean Lodge strives to set itself as a “zoo without fences,” allowing guests to view Aussie wildlife and the Island’s natural attractions with exclusive access in a luxury setting.
Your rates include all dining and beverages, including the diverse range of wines and beers crafted and selected from Kangaroo Island and South Australia. The dining area prepares multiple-course meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers evening sunset drinks each day.
The Southern Ocean Lodge supplies dining areas with locally sourced food and beverages, including fresh seafood, local produce, and vignerons of Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Clare Valley. Chef Tim Bourke and his gastronomic team operate with a “produce-to-plate” philosophy with a daily-changing menu focusing on fresh and often organic food and wines. Dining is available indoors or on the terrace with a view of the Southern Ocean.
Southern Ocean Lodge is designed to offer a relaxed “holiday house” feel, so guests are permitted to help themselves to drinks from in-suite bars or from the Great Room bar, or they may request a Lodge team member mix a cocktail or assist with selecting the perfect drink.
